Before John learned to be a bicycle mechanic, he  trained to be an A & P. He is a fully licensed airplane mechanic. Sure, it doesn't take an A & P to fix a bicycle and yet, why not have a highly qualified mechanic service and repair your bike. It sure can't hurt.
